LOCALLY-based Michael Stewart is the latest award-winning writer to appear at Haworth.

He will be at Cobbles & Clay, in Main Street, on Wednesday, September 6, to perform a selection of poems from The Dogs.

Diane Park, owner of neighbouring bookshop Wave of Nostalgia, says the book has been reviewed as "a tour de force of visionary imagination that is at once apocalyptic and analytical, compassionate and chaotic, darkly comedic – and deadly serious".

She adds: "I’ve always loved Michael’s work, especially Ill Will and Walking the Invisible.

"He has had a terrific response to The Dogs, with lots of rave reviews. I've read it and love it too.

"Hearing Michael perform these edgy, funny and perceptive poems live is going to be something really special."

The event starts at 7pm.

Tickets can be obtained, priced £5, by calling at Wave of Nostalgia or online from waveofnostalgia.co.uk/event-tickets.

There will be ten per cent off the price of all books on the evening, and refreshments will be available.
