MASKED would-be thieves who attempted to steal a moped were thwarted when they were spotted and chased by members of the public.
Two people wearing balaclavas were disturbed whilst trying to take the moped from outside business premises in Oakworth Road, Keighley, at around 12.30pm on Tuesday (September 5).
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "The suspects cut the security chain on the moped and attempted to make off with it.
"They were disturbed and chased by members of the public, and dropped the moped before making off on another moped.
"The victim's machine was recovered, but received some damage when discarded by the suspects."
