A HEALTH and wellbeing festival is being held in Keighley.

The event will feature more than 60 stalls, plus workshops, talks by health practitioners and a wide range of entertainment and other attractions – from pilates and food stalls to bouncy castles and face painting.

Visitors can learn about a variety of therapies, with taster sessions on offer.

Final preparations are now being made for the Yorkshire Health & Wellbeing Festival, which takes place at Victoria Hall on Saturday, November 4, between 10am and 4pm.

Behind the initiative are David Robertson and Jodi Law, who say the venture provides "a significant opportunity" for people to come together, support locally-based businesses and explore health and wellbeing.

"The event promises an enriching experience for attendees," says David, who runs Bronte Adventures and Blue Sky Seo Marketing Agency and is a promoter of community events.

"In addition to the packed programme, we have ensured practicalities are well taken care of. Parking is free and easily accessible, and stallholders will find it convenient to access the building.

"We hope that the success of this event will pave the way for an even larger festival in Keighley next year."

Jodi says the event has received the backing of Bradford Council, town councillors and Keighley MP Robbie Moore.

She adds: "The Yorkshire Health & Wellbeing Festival is more than just an event – it's testament to the community's resilience and spirit and its determination to come together for a healthier and happier Keighley.

"We've been told on numerous occasions not to bother holding a festival in Keighley, but we're determined to prove all the doubters wrong. And the only way to do that is for the people of Keighley to purchase their tickets and come and have a great day."

Mr Moore has met with the organisers and pledged his backing.

"The festival promises to be a day of health and wellbeing like no other and yet another fantastic addition to Keighley’s line up of community events this year," he said.

"Promoting health and wellbeing across our community is so important, and this festival is the perfect opportunity for residents to explore holistic approaches to wellbeing and connect with local practitioners. So do get involved and join the 'wellness wave' by booking your tickets!"
