Vaccination uptake in the region has been good, say NHS chiefs
NHS chiefs say latest Covid and flu vaccination programmes have got off to a "strong" start in the region.
Dr Yvette Oade, medical director for NHS England in the North East and Yorkshire, says more than 450,000 autumn Covid jabs and 850,000 flu vaccines have been delivered already.
A new flu jab booking system has been introduced, allowing eligible adults to schedule appointments at nhs.uk/book-a-flu-vaccination. Booking can also be done through the NHS app or by calling 119.
"Many people are also taking advantage of the opportunity to receive both Covid-19 and flu vaccines during the same visit, thanks to the hard work of dedicated NHS staff in community pharmacies, GP practices and other vaccination settings," said Dr Oade.
