A KEIGHLEY opticians is celebrating after being shortlisted in a coveted awards scheme.
Airedale Opticians, which also has a practice at Cross Hills, is a finalist in two categories of the Optician Awards.
Mohammed Hafejee is in the running for Optometrist of the Year, and Gill Thorp for Dispensing Optician of the Year.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane, London, on December 6.
Mr Hafejee says: "I'm delighted for Gill that she has been shortlisted.
"She joined Airedale Opticians over ten years ago and is an integral part of our success.
"Gill is an invaluable member of staff and has worked and studied to qualify as a dispensing optician, and will soon qualify as a low-vision specialist. Patients often ask her for fashion and styling tips; she is hugely knowledgeable about nearly every spectacle lens on the market!
"I'm likewise humbled by my own nomination. It reflects the wealth of experience we have in our team at every level of the patient journey."
