A SILSDEN care home has opened a hair and beauty salon.

The facility has been provided at Springbank, in Howden Road.

It follows similar projects at two other Spellman Care homes, Steeton Court and Ghyll Royd.

The Springbank salon includes two cutting stations, a backwash unit, nail bar and waiting area, which is to be fitted with a coffee machine.

Home manager, Lisa Noble, says: "We are delighted to officially open our new luxury salon.

"It has been designed with our residents in mind and offers an accessible space, encouraging social interaction, with our comfy and stylish seating areas.

"Our aim was to enhance our resident experience and recreate something which is accessible in the community, but in the comfort of our residents' own home."

She, together with deputy manager April Howie and hairdresser Lisa Guest, took part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Residents will be able to visit the new salon for a weekly haircut and style, with additional visits for pampering and nail painting.
