KEIGHLEY Healthy Living has won a coveted award.

It has received a Transforming Lives accolade in the annual Locality Awards.

The honour, presented at a ceremony in Bristol, recognises community organisations that have had a "significant impact" on people's lives.

Tony Armstrong, chief executive of Locality, says: "Keighley Healthy Living offers support to the community through one-to-one sessions, social groups and exercise classes that are free and accessible by all. With a focus on lifestyle change and building social connections, they empower service users to make small steps to improve their health and wellbeing.

"At Locality, we celebrate the transformative power of community organisations – and organisations such as Keighley Healthy Living embody this vision."

Melanie Hey, of Keighley Healthy Living, said: “We're absolutely delighted to win the award.

"We believe in creating community networks where people feel supported and valued and have real purpose, and their voices are heard."
