AN Oakworth social enterprise is spearheading a range of community initiatives.

Rainbow of Hearts – which is based at White Hill – says the ventures are particularly aimed at helping people struggling with mental or physical health conditions, social exclusion, loneliness and financial worries.

An Advent Appeal has been set up, to support people who find the festive season difficult.

Together with running gift, hamper and 'wish fulfilment' campaigns, the venue is hosting a Christmas Day meal for residents in the area who otherwise face being on their own.

A debt relief fund is also running, on Go Fund Me, entitled Stop the Torment. And a support group will meet at the venue on Thursday evenings, with a similar group for small businesses on Tuesdays.

In January, a smile club will begin meetings, with six sessions a week. It will cater for young people aged 11 to 17, and adults.

"Those living with difficulties are encouraged to get in touch to register their interest to attend," says Rainbow of Hearts founder, Victoria Keating.

"The sessions will offer a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, support groups, animal care and animal assisted therapy, all located in the picturesque countryside. Visitors are offered the chance to escape, belong, breathe and be themselves.

"The Country Munch Dog Friendly Cafe will be open throughout, to visitors but also for bookings and pre-orders from the general public. The cafe even runs dog-friendly meets – with food and drink – Thursday to Sunday, between 10.30am and 12.30pm. The popular cafe serves outstanding afternoon teas, homemade desserts and dishes to suit all tastebuds – for humans and dogs!"

All profits from services and products sold at the Animal Magic Family Pet Retreat, Education & Activity Centre, located on the White Hill site, are used to fund Rainbow of Hearts initiatives.

Victoria adds: "Rainbow of Hearts has also produced its own range of mugs, canvases, T-shirts and baby grows, all adorned with its colourful and positive emblem. All products can be personalised, and they make perfect gifts or keepsakes for loved ones.

"Our venue is also available to hire for networking, business meetings, parties and other events and it hosts a range of pet care services, pet bakery, gift shop, support for start-up ventures and analysis services for established ventures."
