AN annual initiative designed to add festive sparkle to Keighley is underway.

As part of the Festive Bauble Project, children and adults across Keighley are encouraged to create baubles – which are then displayed on the Christmas tree in the Airedale Shopping Centre.

Last year, over 1,000 baubles were decorated.

"It's getting busier every year – with more groups and residents taking part," says Claire Denby, one of the organising team.

"This year we have every age group joining in, from care home residents to toddlers.

"The bauble project is a lovely way of bringing everyone together."

She encourages people to attend a drop-in session.

Workshops are being staged at the Airedale Shopping Centre this Saturday (December 9) and on Friday, December 15, from 11.30am to 2.30pm.
