A TEENAGER who failed to buy a £4.60 rail ticket for a journey from Keighley to Guiseley has been ordered to pay over £460 by magistrates.

Louis Plows, 19, of Suresnes Road, committed the offence on March 9 this year.

Doncaster Justice Centre North was told by train operator Northern that a penalty fare notice was subsequently issued.

An appeal against the notice was made, but rejected, and the amount remained unpaid.

Plows was fined £220 and ordered to pay £150 costs, an £88 victim surcharge and £4.60 in compensation.
