A WEEK of action which included road safety operations in Keighley has been hailed as a success.
Activities took place in all five policing districts of West Yorkshire.
The initiative was in support of the national Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action.
In Keighley, 12 untaxed vehicles were removed from locations across the town and a quad bike – believed to be stolen – was seized.
Chief Inspector Andy Loftus, of the West Yorkshire Police local policing department, says: "I would like to thank our neighbourhood policing teams for their excellent work during the week of action, as well as our partners and communities for their continuing support.
"The Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action is an opportunity for us to highlight the vital contribution made by our local teams in West Yorkshire, which work tirelessly every day to keep their communities safe.
"Our officers, staff and volunteers should feel proud of what they have achieved, which clearly demonstrates their commitment to addressing local priorities and improving their respective areas."
Tribute is also paid to the neighbourhood policing teams by Alison Lowe, West Yorkshire's deputy mayor for policing and crime. She said: "They do a fantastic job of keeping our communities safe."
