A COUPLE have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary – and received a congratulatory message from King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Robert and Sylvia Linton tied the knot at Addingham Methodist Chapel on January 25, 1964.
The couple, of Cragg View, Silsden, met at a dance.
"I used to go dancing at the Winter Gardens in Ilkley," says Sylvia, 84.
"On one occasion Robert was there and he asked me for a dance, and that was it!
"We've both worked hard over the years, and worked together.
"Robert has always enjoyed walking, he still gets up at seven each morning for his papers, and I like to do things around the house."
Both Sylvia and Robert, 93, used to work at Green's textile mill in Silsden.
