A SOUTH Craven skater has scooped medals in the inaugural Special Olympics GB National Winter Games.
Jenny Lee, from Farnhill, was amongst more than 70 athletes who took part in the week-long competition, held at Folgaria, Italy.
There were both alpine skiing and figure skating competitions.
Jenny was first in a pattern dance event, with her East Midlands-based partner Callum Mills, and second in her individual free skating event.
Colin Dyer, chief executive of Special Olympics GB, says: "Huge congratulations go to all the athletes on their success at this first National Winter Games.
"Given the daily challenges that people with intellectual disabilities face throughout their lives, it is a great achievement to be competing and proudly representing your region at a national sporting event, let alone winning a medal.
"Events in the Special Olympics GB movement bring together so many people and give our athletes new levels of confidence."
