A REET good talk is promised at Lees.

Rod Dimbleby, chair of the Yorkshire Dialect Society, is guest speaker at the next Lees Methodist Church Meeting Point session.

"We're very fortunate to have secured Rod who will help us unravel the mysteries of our native tongue," says Maurice Baren, for the church.

"Rod is a very well-known speaker on the subject and will bring much fun and humour to the topic.

"Everyone is welcome to come along and discover the origins of some of the words we commonly use – even if you're not from Yorkshire!"

The meeting takes place at the church, opposite Lees Primary School, on Wednesday, March 20.

Tea and biscuits will be served from 1.45pm, and the meeting starts at 2pm.
