A DISTRICT NHS trust has received a glowing set of results in annual assessments.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust scored highly, and above the national average, across all areas of the Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment.

Health service organisations are examined on factors including cleanliness, the quality and availability of food and drink, and how well they meet the needs of people with dementia or disabilities.

Amongst outstanding scores were 99.22 per cent for cleanliness and 99.17 per cent for privacy, dignity and wellbeing, at both the Airedale Centre for Mental Health in Steeton and Lynfield Mount Hospital, Bradford.

And the trust exceeded the national average for dementia by ten per cent.

Mike Woodhead, the care trust's director of finance, contracting and estates, says: "We are delighted with the results, which reflect the hard work and commitment our staff put in every day to ensure that the patient experience is a positive one.

"We know that areas like cleanliness and wellbeing can make a big difference to a person’s recovery, but whilst we celebrate this result, we need to continue to improve our hospital environments so they reflect current best practice to support therapeutic care and patient recovery."
