A SILSDEN man who stages an annual clay pigeon shoot in aid of Manorlands has a new fundraising target in his sights.

Since Nobby Clarke held the inaugural event in 2013, he has raised £23,791 for the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Now his ambition for next year is to break through the £25,000 mark.

He was speaking following the latest shoot, which added £2,692 to the pot.

It was held at Upwood Hall, Riddlesden.

"I was delighted to be able to help Manorlands hospice with a good total again," says Mr Clarke.

"I’d like to thank all who attended as well as Rob Thornber for preparing the chilli, Paul Allen at Craven Bakery for finger rolls, Lewis Robertshaw for providing the Upwood Hall shoot and Ripon Farm Services, which donated cartridges.

"We now have the £25,000 mark in our sights for 2025."

Sue Ryder community fundraising manager, Andrew Wood, says: "We are very grateful to Nobby and his team for continuing to support us with the clay pigeon shoot.

"The funds raised mean we can continue to be there during the hardest times for people who need us the most."
