LIBRARIES across the district are staging free family-friendly activities during the Easter school holidays.

A wide range of events is taking place, aimed at encouraging reading and book sharing.

The programme of activities includes Easter crafts at Wilsden Library on Tuesday, March 26, at 11am; a storytime and fluffy bunnies craft session at Keighley Library on Saturday, March 30, at 11am, and a storytime plus Easter egg crafts at Silsden Library on Wednesday, April 3, at 2pm.

Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council’s executive member for healthy people and places, says: "We are 'egg-cited' to be welcoming families to our libraries over the Easter school holidays.

"We’ve organised a great range of free activities which are not only fun but also encourage the enjoyment of reading, which in turn provides many benefits to learning, development and creativity in children.

"Our libraries provide a wide range of resources and services which support people from across our local communities, and residents of all ages can sign up for free library membership at any time."
