TWO Oakworth groups have received a boost.
Friends of Holden Park and 6th Keighley (Oakworth) Scout Group have been awarded funding.
The grants are from the ward improvement funds of councillors Mark Curtis and Luke Maunsell, who represent the village on Keighley Town Council.
Friends of Holden Park have received £232 towards new signage, seeds and equipment.
And the Scouts' £300 will help buy high-visibility workwear and equipment for use at events.
The grants were distributed in the final round of ward improvement funding for the current civic year.
Cllr Curtis says: "The Scouts and Friends of Holden Park are more than deserving to benefit from this last boost of the year.
"The Scouts' high-visibility workwear will keep them safe at their main events, including helping with the Lions Santa’s sleigh, whilst the resources for the Friends will assist with their ongoing work in the park."
Cllr Maunsell says: "We are overjoyed by the number of projects we've been able to support this year, and the ability the town council’s ward improvement fund provides to ensure we can back the numerous wonderful groups in our ward. We have many ideas for how to use some of the money next year."
