A POPULAR annual fundraising event which over the years has coined-in more than £500,000 for Manorlands is back.

And organisers of the Bronte Vintage Gathering say this year's extravaganza, on May 11 and 12, promises to be the "best ever".

The event will take place as normal on the showfield in Haworth Road, Cullingworth.

A wide range of attractions is lined up over the weekend.

Activities will kick off on the Friday evening, May 10, with live music from Rookie Numbers. Tickets for the performance are £10, including supper – call 07702 014897.

A programme of entertainment across the weekend will include Atkinson Action Horses, which perform at events internationally.

There will be more than 250 vintage and classic vehicles – including cars, motorcycles, tractors and commercials – and engines.

SMJ Falconry will be present, together with Pendle Dog Agility Club, and visitors will be able to enjoy watching terrier and ferret racing.

There's also a funfair, bouncy castle and slides, rides from Blackpool donkeys, craft stalls and trade stands, plus a beer tent and food.

On the Saturday evening, a collectors' auction takes place, and there will be free live music courtesy of Hit The Lights.

The gathering will open at 10am on both the Saturday and Sunday.

Trish Wood, for the organisers, says: "This year's event is definitely one not to be missed! It promises to be our best ever.

"We are delighted to have the incredible Atkinson Action Horses in the arena – they have to be seen to be believed – and we have lots of other exciting things for people to see and do.

"There will be all the usual favourites.

"We are still taking bookings for trade stands and craft stalls, until the end of this month, if people want to book a space.

"The collectors' auction – with Wharfedale Farmers Auction Mart – is a great chance for you to empty that shed, barn, attic or garage, then bring your stuff on the day and make a few bob! What's not to love? If you’re not selling, have a look round anyway – you might just find that item you’ve been searching for!

"And if you're visiting, why not come for the weekend? Camping is still available."

There is free parking at the site.
