AN event celebrating the birth date of Anne Lister – whose life was made famous through hit BBC programme Gentleman Jack – is being held at Haworth.
Performance poet Christine Sanders will read poems from her Women collection, which tracks the lesbian love life of the Shibden Hall resident.
The event is at Wave of Nostalgia independent bookshop, Main Street, on Wednesday, April 3 – the date of Anne Lister's birth in 1791.
Bookshop owner, Diane Park, says: "The combination of a fantastic performance poet in Christine and legendary local hero Anne Lister is very special."
Tickets for the 7pm event are £5, including a glass of wine. Call at Wave of Nostalgia or go to waveofnostalgia.co.uk/event-tickets
The event can also be joined via Zoom.
