BELINDA Marks – an advanced clinical practitioner at Manorlands – has been honoured in a national awards scheme.

She took the Innovation and Change accolade and overall title at the Sue Ryder VIP Awards.

Belinda received her accolade at the Oxenhope hospice from Sue Ryder chief operating officer Alan Bowers.

She said: "What an honour to receive this award.

"I would like to thank all my colleagues at Manorlands for being such an amazing team and supporting me."

Sarah Bottomley, service director at the hospice, says: "Belinda’s innovative approach has significantly expanded the reach of Sue Ryder’s palliative care services in West Yorkshire. Her efforts have also meant that people who wish to spend their final moments in the hospice can do so, even if they don't require medical or specialist palliative care."

Other members of the Manorlands team recognised included speciality doctor Rhea Nicholson, who received the Rising Star Award, and fundraising volunteer David Senior, shortlisted for the Everyday Hero Award. Also, the Zip the Cow event was highly commended.

* A careers drop-in day is being held at Manorlands on Wednesday, April 17, from 10am to 6pm, for anyone interested in working in palliative care. Register at sueryder.org/jobs/careers-in-palliative-care/careers-day-2024
