MORE than 30 candidates will do battle in Keighley-district wards at the May 2 Bradford Council elections.

The confirmed line-up is: Bingley Rural – Helen Baranowski (Liberal Democrats), Jenny Kimber (Labour), Brian Newham (Green Party), Geoff Winnard (Conservative).

Craven – George William Buckley (Conservative), Peter John Kaye (Yorkshire Party), Andrew Mark James Knight (Labour), Paul Michael Mann (Liberal Democrats), Leo Robinson (UKIP), Neil Charles Whitaker (Green Party).

Keighley Central – Clare Abberton (Conservative), Nick Allon (Liberal Democrats), Peter Alan Ferguson (Green Party), Mohsin Hussain (Labour), Vaz Shabir ( Independent).

Keighley East – Fulzar Ahmed (Labour), Pauline Heather Allon (Liberal Democrats), Jenna Ambler (Conservative), Duncan Nigel Stuart Hunnisett (Green Party), Nasser Razak (Independent), Alexander Richard Vann (Social Democratic Party).

Keighley West – Dominic James Atlas (Yorkshire Party), Adrian Farley (Green Party), Julie Glentworth (Conservative), David John Hewitt (Liberal Democrats), Andrew Mark Judson (Reform UK), Joe O'Keeffe (Labour).

Worth Valley – Russell Brown (Conservative), Ashwaan Joomun-Whitehead (Labour), Kay Kirkham (Liberal Democrats), Alyson Claire Telfer (Green Party).

Bradford Council is currently controlled by Labour, which holds more than 50 of the 90 seats.

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority mayoral election also takes place on May 2.

Candidates are: Tracy Brabin (Labour and Co-operative Party), Bob Buxton (Yorkshire Party), Andrew Varah Cooper (Green Party), Arnold Eric Craven (Conservative), Stewart Golton (Liberal Democrats), Jonathan Richard Tilt (Independent).
