A CARE home group has been awarded another coveted accolade.

Spellman Care has achieved success in the Global Health & Pharma Social Care Awards.

It was named Best Luxury Nursing & Residential Care Home Enterprise – North Yorkshire.

The group runs Craven Nursing Home in Skipton, Springbank at Silsden, Steeton Court and Ghyll Royd, Guiseley.

"We are incredibly proud to be acknowledged for our commitment to providing the highest quality care," says Philippa Young, Spellman Care's group operations manager.

"This award is testament to the dedication and compassion of our entire team, which works tirelessly to create a warm, welcoming and enriching environment for our residents.

"We are committed to continuous improvement, and we'll use this recognition as further motivation to raise the bar and continue to deliver exceptional care across our homes."

A string of accolades and initiatives during 2023 culminated with Spellman Care being named Family-Run Care Home Group of the Year in the Northern Enterprise Awards.

And earlier this year, Springbank received a CareHome.co.uk Yorkshire and the Humber Top 20 Award.

The group has also launched a new venture aimed at boosting staff wellbeing.

Employees across the company took part in an inaugural 'Wellbeing Wednesday'.

Throughout the day, hydration stations offered a selection of flavoured waters, juices, fruits and other refreshments, and there was a wide range of activities.

The sessions, which follow on from the launch of a wellbeing and development hub, are now set to be staged monthly.

"Our first Wellbeing Wednesday was held across the group with great success," says Tracy Cousins, recruitment and retention manager.

"At Spellman Care we feel it is vital to ensure the ongoing wellbeing of our staff. This is not just being there for staff and providing support, advice and guidance, but about ensuring a great place to work and building bonds between all members of the team.

"This month we saw Eid celebrations, and staff dressing up – and although the day was aimed at the team's wellbeing, visitors and residents enjoyed themselves too! Staff were provided with snacks, fruit and drinks at our hydration stations."

Jenny Newiss, a staff member at Springbank, says: "It was great to see our home take part in the launch of Wellbeing Wednesday. There was a fun atmosphere, with staff taking part in a fancy dress run. As well as the fresh fruits, drinks and treats on offer, we also had displays of positive words to describe all the staff. It was good fun and we're looking forward to the next event."
