A WELL-known locally-based author will be guest speaker at Lees Methodist Church Meeting Point.
Maurice Baren will provide the background to Yorkshire Institutions and Products.
A spokesperson says: "Maurice has made a study of these important parts of our Yorkshire culture, covering them in some of the books that he has had published. Perhaps some of the institutions or products are ones that we already treasure, whilst others we maybe did not even realise had their origins in Yorkshire."
The meeting takes place at Lees Methodist Church – which is directly opposite the village primary school – on Wednesday, May 15, at 2pm.
Tea and biscuits will be available from 1.45pm.
Onsite parking is available.
"Everyone is very welcome to come along," said the spokesperson.
