VOLUNTEERS from Skipton Building Society have helped rejuvenate the children’s ward playground at Airedale Hospital.

Teams spent two days jetwashing the courtyard and equipment, and painting a mural.

Tracy Howarth, one of the team leaders, says: "The children’s ward is a facility lots of us have used in the past with our own children, so we were really pleased to be able to give back and show our gratitude.

"The two days were amazing! Everyone got stuck in to create a lovely mural, and brought a splash of colour to the area."

Jodie Hearnshaw, manager of Airedale Hospital & Community Charity, says: "When the team approached us about volunteering, we immediately knew which project we needed a helping hand with!

"The outside space of Ward 17 is fantastic for the children staying there. It just needed a little TLC!"

New play items will also be added, courtesy of the charity.
