Ten men – allegedly members of rival gangs in Keighley – were committed for trial at Bradford Crown Court yesterday.

One defendant, Hasan Mumtaz, 23, of Morris Street, Nelson, who is accused of violent disorder and two counts of wounding, appeared in court with an injury.

Bingley magistrates were told he had been attacked on the way to court. He had been treated by paramedics.

Saiqul Miah, 27, Junjun Miah, 22, and Forhad Miah, 24, all of Acre Street, Keighley, were charged with violent disorder. Saiqul is also charged with wounding.

Kabir Bashir, 23, of Clarendon Street, Keighley; Junaid Miah, 20, of Acre Street, Keighley; Wasim Mumtaz, 26, of Carlton Street, Haworth; and Mohammed Shabir, 24, of Clarendon Street, Keighley, all face offences of violent disorder and wounding.

Shafiqual Ali, 19, of Clarendon Street, Keighley, and Mohammed Ullah, 21, of Malsis Road, Keighley, face charges of violent disorder.

All ten were remanded on conditional bail to appear at Bradford Crown Court on November 13 for a preliminary hearing.
