A Keighley woman whose dog went missing from her garden has appealed for someone seen picking her up to return him.

Jean Soans, of Malsis Road, said Poppy, a ten-year-old black cocker spaniel, went missing on October 21.

After she advertised his disappearance in the press, she received four calls from people who said they had seen her pet later that same day.

She said: “They told me they’d seen her in Halifax Road, near the Hope and Anchor pub, being picked up by a woman in a white van.

“The van had been driving towards Keighley.

“The woman was stocky, had short brown hair and was wearing a blue jumper, black trousers and wellington boots. I’ve rung around all the wardens, kennels and vets and Poppy hasn’t been handed in.”

She said her dog — which she had owned since she was a puppy — had never wandered off before.
