Police seized drugs during a raid on a Keighley town centre restaurant.

Officers swooped on the Balti House, in Albert Street, and recovered a quantity of suspected cocaine plus cash.

Three men were arrested following Tuesday’s dawn raid.

Two were subsequently released without charge and the third was given police bail pending further inquiries.

The operation, which involved members of Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), was carried out as part of a district-wide drugs-busting week of action.

Police said inquiries in connection with the raid were ongoing.

Tackling Drugs Week has also seen officers focus on low-level dealers operating on street corners and in Keighley parks.

Patrols have been stepped up to act as a deterrent and police, with other organisations, have been raising awareness of the dangers of drug abuse.

Inspector Wayne Horner, of Keighley NPT, said: “We have been very active in Keighley as part of Tackling Drugs Week and are focussing our efforts on those who cause misery on a street level in our communities by dealing drugs in public places.

“I would ask residents who do know of street-level drug dealing going on in their area to contact us on 01535 617119 or the Dob in a Dealer campaign on 0845 6060606.”

He confirmed that NPT officers had also been involved in proactive operations.

“We have seized a quantity of a class A drug, believed to be cocaine, in an operation in Keighley town centre,” he said.

The Balti House declined to comment to the Keighley News about the raid.
