Armed robbers have struck at Cullingworth Co-op.

Three masked men, wielding a knife and crowbar, entered the Greenside Lane store as it was being closed at 11pm yesterday.

They forced two members of staff back inside the shop and stole a large quantity of Lambert and Butler and Richmond branded cigarettes as well as cash, postage stamps and National Lottery scratch cards.

It is believed the men escaped in a black Saab.

The suspects are all described as tall and heavily built.

Two of them were wearing black jackets and dark trousers and the third had a light coloured jacket with dark blue sleeves, hood and shoulders.

All three wore black balaclavas.

Both members of staff – a man and a woman - were left badly shaken and the female suffered bruising to her elbow.

Police are appealing for anybody with information about the incident to come forward.

Detective Inspector Ryan Bragg, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “We would ask anyone who witnessed the robbery or has information about the people responsible or the black Saab to contact Keighley CID on 01535 618085 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
