A company planning to build 55 new homes in Sykes Lane, Silsden, is organising a second consultation event.

Harron Homes has arranged the session following complaints that it did not give enough notice for its first consultation.

The new event will be next Wednesday at Silsden Youth Centre, Elliott Street, from 3.30pm to 7.30pm.

Members of the public are welcome to go along, and town and district councillors have also been invited.

Harron Homes is seeking people’s views on its plans in advance of submitting an application to Bradford Council.

Brad Davison, Harron Homes’ technical co-ordinator, said the initial event had been a success in terms of numbers attending and useful comments received.

But he accepted that there had been comments about the event’s timing, adding: “We are very keen that everybody has an opportunity to comment.”

The plans concern land on Sykes Lane, off the main road through Silsden and next to the Leeds-Liverpool Canal.

Town and district councillor Adrian Naylor has previously aired concerns about the site being used for housing, particularly about access.
