Didgeridoo players, hand drummers and cappella singers have already appeared at Keighley’s monthly mic night.

Organisers say they have no idea what unusual performances may be in store for the third session this month.

Anyone is welcome to go along and perform at next Tuesday’s event at the Exchange Arts Centre – also home to Keighley Musicians Centre – in Russell Street.

Owner Jym Harris said: “The open mic is becoming an institution of its own. This event is becoming extremely popular.

“The friendly and informal atmosphere created by the Musicians Centre guys has allowed many performers to take their first steps up on stage, try out new songs or just perform their favourite songs to a large crowd.

“Many local favourites have already graced this night, including Strid, Tony Levy, Liz Narey and Kurt Wood. Other acts, including MC Voices, the Musicians Centre’s own choir, have made their first appearance.”

Admission is free and doors open 7pm.
