Pupils from a Keighley school are again preparing to tackle a 176-mile relay run to raise money for charity.
The team from Oakbank School aims to complete the route, from Kirkcudbright in Scotland to the Oakworth Road school, in under 24 hours.
And the youngsters, who tackle the “KK Relay” this weekend, have received a message of support from Olympic silver medallist Steve Cram.
Steve, who visited the school recently, said: “This relay takes on some of the toughest terrain in the UK, on quiet ‘B’ roads, and is supported by a crew of staff in minibuses and on cycles, keeping the students safe, fed, watered, clothed and motivated.
“This is an admirable cause and a tremendous challenge. The students will gain a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
The students are raising funds for the Manorlands hospice at Oxenhope and Bradford NightStop and aim to beat the £3,500 coined in from the 2010 relay.
Oakbank thanks Aire Valley Cycles, Ogden’s Fibres and Firths Uniform and School Wear for their help.
