Pint-sized cancer-care fundraiser Chloe Hewitt will have a busy two days during the first weekend in September.

She will spend the Saturday running in Huddersfield’s Race for Life, which was postponed from July due to bad weather.

And the following day she’ll be at a fun day organised by her family at the Bronte playing fields in Oakworth.

Chloe, eight, who attends Long Lee Primary School, has taken part in the Race for Life three times to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

This year she is running in memory of her grandmother Sue Hewitt, who died in April after a four-year battle against the disease.

She set out with a fundraising target of £100 but so far she has raised £645, including £100 at her school.

The Hewitt family are organising the fun day, on September 2, at the playing fields off Goose Cote Lane, in aid of Manorlands.

The event will begin at 10am with matches by the Oakworth Juniors soccer teams, along with other activities.

The main event will begin at noon with face painting, a barbecue, bar, stalls selling cakes, a tombola, ducking stool and bouncy castle.
