Keighley families who missed a ride on miniature steam trains at Keighley Show are being offered a second chance.

Each year Keighley and District Model Engineers take their portable track to the show at the Marley playing fields.

Members say they shared the disappointment of Keighley Show organisers that poor weather caused the show to be cancelled earlier this month.

Club spokesman Dave Aston said: “The trains are an added attraction to the day and usually prove very popular.”

He said people could still go along to the club's permanent track, just a few yards away on the edge of the playing fields.

Trains will be running around the half-mile oval track this Sunday and on October 21, from 1.30pm to 5pm.

Tickets will be on sale both days for the club's annual bonfire night rides and pie and pea supper on November 3.
