Laughter is the best medicine in a new anthology of poetry by a group of medics.
The doctors, nurses and other medical professionals also look at serious subjects in the book Poems on Prescription.
The book is launched tomorrow in Haworth at the start of the autumn conference of the Society of Medical Writers.
Membership of the society includes doctors, students, nurses, psychologists, social workers and dentists. The new anthology aims to give readers a view of the human side of the members' work.
There are also poems about the Bronte family, recreation, travel, mental health, medical conditions, birth and asylum seekers. Copies are available for £10 from maryanderson@btinternet.com.
