A former Keighley firefighter who won a bodybuilding world championship is appealing for sponsorship so she can compete for the top title.
Anna Millington was last year crowned amateur world champion during a contest in New York, entitling her to enter ‘pro’ level.
She will next month return to the United States to compete for the professional world title – the top level with the International Natural Bodybuilding Federation.
Last year’s pro winner was Cheryl Myers, from Sutton, who travelled with Bingley woman Anna to the competition. Anna, who ten years ago became the first female firefighter at Keighley Fire Station, must cover the £2,500-plus cost of travel, accommodation and competition entry from her own pocket.
She hopes that a Keighley business will be able to help cover her costs in return for her promoting their products or services.
She said: “I want to get backing from a local company that wants to share in the success I’ve had so far, or anyone who would like me to carry their name on my kit.”
Anyone who is willing to provide sponsorship should contact anna.millington@virgin .net.
