A PARISH councillor who has stepped down from her post was thanked for her contribution to the village of Oxenhope.
Cllr Penny Cusdin, who had been on Oxenhope Parish Council since 2011, has resigned.
Speaking at the council's latest monthly meeting, chairman Cllr Ken Eastwood said: "I think we should formally record our thanks to Penny for her service to the parish council.
"We will now be advertising the vacant seat on the parish council.
"Should 10 or more local electors petition us to hold an election then we will need to stage an election to fill this vacancy.
"If we don't receive this request by February 27, then we will be taking on a new council member through a co-option."
Cllr Cusdin had been one of two councillors instrumental in setting up Oxenhope Youth Club. She has also served as parish council vice chairman.
