WHICH hymn deserves the most praise?
That’s the question being asked by churches in Sutton Park as they prepare for their own Songs of Praise event.
Churches in the Cross Hills and the surrounding area are uniting for the outdoor event in Sutton Park on July 8 at 3pm.
Anyone living in the area is invited to vote for their favourite hymns and worship songs, and the most popular will be sung on the day.
Praise in the Park will feature community band Sutton’s Got Brass and a choir made up of children from local primary schools.
The Rev Helen Collings, vicar of Sutton with Cowling and Lothersdale, said last year’s Praise in the Park was fantastic - a real community event.
She added: “We are looking forward to an even better event this year. We hope that lots of people will take the opportunity to vote: we really want to be singing people’s very favourites on the day.”
Voting can be done in person at a local churches, Cross Hills Library or Sutton Convenience Store, or by visiting surveymonkey.co.uk/r/7MDP533.
Voting is open until June 18 at 4pm.
