AN Airedale Hospital community nurse has received a coveted accolade.
Maureen Greenwood has been awarded the Queen's Nurse title, in recognition of high standards of practice and patient care.
The honour is given by the Queen’s Nursing Institute.
Maureen, team leader with the Craven District Nursing Service at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, said she was proud to receive the award.
"I have worked in community nursing for over 20 years and my enthusiasm and commitment to providing first-class nursing services nearer home remains undiminished," she added.
"I feel privileged to work alongside the wonderful community district nursing teams which provide skilled care to patients in their own homes."
Jill Asbury, director of nursing at the trust, pays tribute.
"We now have three nurses who have been given this prestigious title and we're proud that our community nursing leadership is being recognised as a beacon of good practice – not only within Airedale NHS Foundation Trust but beyond," she said.
"Maureen has been a consistent advocate for the delivery of high-quality community-based care and has been instrumental in continuously improving the service.
"It is great to see her being recognised for this work."
