A SILSDEN man was supported by his dad when he swam across Windermere to complete the Great North Swim.
Andrew Davy successfully made the one-mile crossing of the Cumbrian lake in 39 minutes and 20 seconds.
He was sponsored by his father Derek Davy, the Provincial Grand Primo with the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, to raise money for prostate cancer research.
Andrew said: “This is my dad’s choice of charity, so between us the money raised so far is over £1,300 and counting.
“I’d like to thank the Dock in Steeton for sponsoring my wet suit, which was supplied by Robin Hood Water Sports and everyone who took the time to sponsor me for this worthy charity.
“Bring on next year!”
