CHILDREN are jumping into a Wilsden street to stop vehicles parking outside the village school.
The youngsters are "Parking Buddies" rather than real little people – aluminium bollards dressed as fake pupils or police officers.
The buddies, funded by Wilsden Parish Council, the school and Wilsden Women's Institute, have been placed on zigzags in Tweedy Street to prevent inappropriate parking.
The day after the buddies were put out, one was run over by a delivery van, so a pupil's mother donated £40 towards buying a new base.
Cllr Tony Caunt of Wilsden Parish Council has worked on the project for months with head John Davison, who was keen to use the six buddies to keep the children safe.
