PLANS to convert a former pub in Keighley town centre into a shop and flats have been approved by Bradford Council.
The Star Inn, on North Street, is in the Keighley Town Conservation Area, and has also been called Muldoons.
A planning application submitted by Michael Ainsworth this summer called for the ground floor to be turned into a shop and the upper three floors to be converted into five flats.
The plans have now been approved by Bradford Council.
A council design and conservation spokesman said: “The property dates to 1900 and was built in a Renaissance architectural style. I have no objections in principle to the proposal, which would present a potentially sustainable use for the building and would bring the building back into active use.”
