A VILLAGE pub has gone to the dogs – and it’s delighted!
The New Inn at Wilsden has been named among the top hostelries in Yorkshire for its dog-friendly policy.
The Main Street pub was sixth, following a public vote, in regional awards staged by Rover.com – a network of pet sitters and dog walkers.
Landlord Miguel Schreck said he was delighted at the accolade.
“We pride ourselves on the welcome we give to customers’ four-legged friends,” he added.
“Dogs can enjoy treats, like their own alcohol-free drink.
“We get a lot of dog walkers call in. I think half the time it’s the dog that drags in the owner, because they know there’s a treat awaiting them!
"It’s great that our dog-friendly approach has won recognition.”
Two other pubs in the Bradford district also made the top ten – the Old Glen House at Baildon, which was second, and the Ring O’Bells, Thornton, in third. Overall winner was a Wakefield hostelry, The Calder Vale Hotel.
