ANOTHER storm is brewing – but in a glass.
Keighley brewery Timothy Taylor has launched its first keg ale – Hopical Storm.
The tipple – produced using UK-grown whole leaf hops – is described as a four per cent ABV “aromatic, dry-hopped, modern pale”.
It was initially introduced as a cask product last summer, but proved popular when trialled in keg at festivals and in some pubs.
A Timothy Taylor spokesman said: “Our core business remains in cask, however we recognise there are some quality outlets that either would prefer to offer a keg range to suit changing customers’ needs – or do not have the cellar space throughput or staff expertise to serve cask.
“Hopical Storm has a pleasant, fruity body topped with flavours of mandarin, mango and passion fruit, and the style of beer particularly suits the keg format and a cooler serve for warmer weather.”
The ale will be formally launched in keg at the BrewLDN beer festival – at The Old Truman Brewery, London – on Thursday, February 27, but is available now in selected Timothy Taylor pubs.
