POLICE have issued a warning to motorists after a theft from a vehicle in Keighley town centre.
It is believed someone reached through the open window of the vehicle, which was parked in Spencer Street, and took a purse.
West Yorkshire Police say property should not be left on show in unoccupied vehicles and windows should always be closed.
“Sat-navs, phones, money, laptops, clothing and tools can be extremely attractive to an offender and are the everyday items that often get left on show,” said a spokesman.
Advice includes never leave any items of value in your vehicle when it is unoccupied, always remove sat-navs and their holders and ensure the sucker mark from the holder is wiped off the window, and wherever feasible don’t leave work-related equipment in your vehicle – especially overnight.
