A MAJOR annual fundraiser in aid of Manorlands has gone virtual.
The Keighley 10k and 5k should have taken place as normal on Mother’s Day, but was postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak and rescheduled for August 31.
But the fundraising team at the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice has announced that the event, which since it was first held in 2007 has coined-in over £450,000, will now take place virtually over the August bank holiday weekend.
Participants can run or walk a 10k or 5k route of their choice during that weekend.
All those who take part will receive a medal and can, if they wish, have their time recorded on a leader board.
Anyone who has already entered the original event will automatically have their entry carried over, but with options to cancel or defer.
“We really hope people will still participate,” said a spokesman. “Manorlands anticipates a funding gap of £1.5 million this financial year.”
