The Craven, Aire & Wharfe Junior League, who have been named the West Riding County FA’s Charter Standard League of the Year for 2012, are holding two sessions to help club officials who are non-qualified referees.

They are at Oakworth Junior Football Club’s Bronte Playing Fields next Tuesday (October 30) and Salts Sports Club on Thursday, November 8, both starting at 7.30pm.

The sessions, which will be taken by West Riding County FA referees’ assessor Justin Crowther, are aimed at nine v nine and 11 v 11 matches.

It is mandatory for officials to attend one of the sessions, although if club officials have been before they need not come. Neither should qualified referees, nor club officials or coaches who are qualified referees.

League secretary Mike Breeze said: “From our experience over the past few years, it is obvious that a little bit of help and knowledge makes the job a bit easier for both the club official and the league’s officers. ”

Applications to attend a session should be made to Mr Breeze on 01535-652940 or at cravenairewharfe@ blue yonder.co.uk, stating your name, club, age group and preferred evening.
