Cougars chairman Gary Fawcett is urging fans to snap up season tickets and help secure a four-figure donation to boost squad funds for next season.

A major supporter of the club, who wishes to remain anonymous, has vowed to pour £3,500 of his own money into Squadbuilder if 300 season tickets are sold by the early-bird deadline of October 31.

Squadbuilder is the brainchild of former player-coach Jason Deme-triou and allows fans to invest directly in the playing squad through a monthly subscription fee.

With a major restructuring of the game due to take place in 2015, Cougars are keen to finish as high as possible next season as they look to earn a place in what will effectively become known as Super League II.

Fawcett said: “Next season we have the potential to position ourselves for a very exciting future.

“With the restructured league system with promotion and relegation taking effect in 2015, then the 20-year-old dream of entry into Super League becomes a real possibility. “We are happy with the squad we’ve signed so far and yet still wish to strengthen.

“Cougars fans, old and new, can play their part by purchasing a season ticket to provide funds for the club to grow and strengthen the squad.

“We have provided a great early-bird season ticket deal to help make this happen.

“The 2014 season is the platform for the club to achieve great things in the future.

“The bigger the crowd next season, and in future seasons, the quicker this will happen.”

On the supporter who has pledged to donate, Fawcett said: “This person wants to remain anonymous but he has been long associated with Keighley Cougars and supports the club as much as he can in many ways.”

Adult season tickets (ground access only) are available from £130, with concessions currently £70. Once the October 31 deadline passes, these prices will rise to £160 and £80 respectively.
