SILDEN'S Josh McParland is hoping that moving up a category won't cramp his style when he competes in Sunday's Bike Trial National at Addingham Moorside (10.30am).
The 11-year-old, who is now in the intermediate section, was British and European champion last season in the novice category.
The iconic venue, nicknamed 'The Nab', stages the first round of the new-look Bike Trial Federation's British Bike Trial Cup.
The new marking-out system, adopted from European events, will also be in evidence, with all routes taped, making section routes clearer to riders, observers and spectators.
Addingham Moorside is littered with rocks of all different shapes and sizes, making it ideal not only for bike trails but also motorcycle trials.
The trial, scheduled to finish about around 3.30pm, is free for spectators, and food will be available all day.
