A LAST-ROUND 78 saw Keighley golfer Will Whiteoak slip down the field in the prestigious Brabazon Trophy at Woodhall Spa.
The Shipley member from Haworth was handily placed in 19th position going into the final day of the English Men’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship, having carded scores of 74, 74 and 73.
However, a five-over par fourth round on the Hotchkin course saw him finish on seven over overall in a tie for 47th spot.
South African Kyle McClatchie followed in the footsteps of his countryman Charl Schwartzel by winning the event on ten under par.
He was one shot clear of Scotland's Jamie Stewart and England's Jake Burnage and Jack Singh Brar.
